It’s Fall at the House of Hope! Here’s what’s happening: Our numbers are ever increasing. Last Friday we had 118 clients. We need more volunteers on Fridays. We are well-staffed on Wednesdays at this time. We can always use extra volunteers on any day the schools are out because we have larger numbers on those days. We also need more volunteers to cook food. We serve at least 250 meals a week. There are many ways you can help even if you aren’t available on Wednesdays or Fridays when we’re open! THANK YOU to the Pocius Lifebuilder for hosting our “Pack the Pantry” day. A BIG thank you to all of you who came by and dropped off food and clothing! It was much needed. Maybe another Lifebuilder would like to do this quarterly, also.
We are now collecting new, wrapped toys for our House of Hope Christmas party. This was such a success last year! Bring your new, wrapped toys to church on Sunday mornings with the age and gender marked on the outside (Example:Girl 3-5) or bring them directly to the House of Hope at 505 E Emma.
We received a grant from the Harp’s Golf Tournament in the amount of $5,000.00. We are in the process of applying for more grants for our daily operation expenses. Be sure to listen to KLRC 101.1 for the month of October. We are their “Non-Profit Organization of the Month”. An interview will be played several times a day all month to raise awareness of who we are and what we do. We are also highlighted for the month on the “KLRC CARES” webpage. We are looking for individuals, churches, and businesses to partner with us to make a difference in Northwest Arkansas! Contact us through the website or by calling the church office for ways you or your company can help! www.houseofhoperescuemission.com.
One way you can help now is to go to walmart.com/hunger and sign up for the contest. The winners get $50,000 for their community to help end hunger.
For the very first time in history we had to turn away 10 families Wednesday due to being out of food in the pantry. We served a hot meal to 112 clients this same day. The need is great. Could God use YOU to help restock the pantry and feed literally thousands of hungry people in Northwest Arkansas? Any non-perishable food items would be great. All donations may be brought to 505 E Emma during our regular hours: Wed. and Fri. 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. Or call the church office, or contact us through the website to arrange a pickup, you may also bring your donations to church on Sunday mornings and drop them in the tub provided at the information table. Thank You!
House of Hope is still having record breaking numbers for the summer! 139 on Wednesday, June 27. We are amazed every day at how God is meeting the needs! Today, most of our regular volunteers were off, and I thought two of us would have to run it. But God sent 25 volunteers, 12 of which were brand new! Wow. THANK YOU to all of you who showed up today: Joe and Shirlene Dunn, Mike and Jeanne Clark, Elizabeth Powers, Lexi and Kennadi, Bridgette Henry, Mason and Trevor, Troy Driggers, Doug Hansen, Helen Keener, Helen and AJ Brightwell, Libby and Kaylee, Victoria, Karen, Bill and Connie Harp, Lou Henley and Ben, and Stephanie Dunn! Whew! Thank you, also to Chris McCaslin for working so hard to get donations and grants for us, and to Ann Payne who does the job I had to do today, on a regular basis. You have a large crown waiting for you in heaven! God continues to do “More than we could ask or think”. Join us for our anniversary celebration Sunday, July 8, 4:00 PM at House of Hope, 505 E Emma.
